Often I wonder where this world is going to take me. Often I think, "Is this where I wanna be?"

If you stop to think about it, life is like a moving escalator. Never are we exactly in the same place. Each day it is moving, often at different speeds, yet still in motion. Some days the movement is onward and upward and other days it's in a downward spiral. Each of us are on our own escalator often parallel to others.

Some of our escalators are moving as fast as we want others are moving to slow. If they are moving too slow often we are struggling to run up the escalator while it's moving just to catch up or to be at the speed we want. The reverse is also true, if our machine is headed south we may be only adding to the speed by running to heigthen our demise.

Yet other times, the speed is to fast. We don't have the time to do what we want, passing by to fast feeling that we missed something or want to relive what passed us by.

With all of that said, have you ever tried going in the opposite direction when you are already on the ride? It's nearly impossible! You have to use twice the effort to accomplish the same thing. If the escalator is going faster than your attempt, truly you may only be avoiding the ultimate destiny. This applies to either direction of life you are going. Running up a down is tough and down an up is nearly impossible. Both are possible, you just have to try harder.

I think today, Monday the 7th of December, I have just spent a year trying to run up a down escalator. It really didn't matter how much effort I tried with or how clever I tried to jump on, I just wasn't meant to make it to the top. I am where I was meant to be. With time I will find that parallel movement that truly is meant to compliment my destiny.
